Frequently Asked Questions

Will I Have To Change Doctors? Are These Plans Accepted By Hospitals and Emergency Rooms?

Answer: You will not have to change your doctor. The plans that I offer are PPO and PPOM plans, I have one traditional plan (Value Blue by Blue Cross) that is non network.

To see if your doctor or hospital is covered under the Blue Cross Preferred PPO plans click here.

If you want to see if your Doctor is a member of the PPOM (Preferred Provider of Michigan) Network click here. This network is used by Unicare, Aetna, Humana, United Healthcare/Golden Rule, and others.

Why Haven't I Heard Of Unicare, Aetna, Humana, or Golden Rule? Are these Reputible Companies?

Answer: Health Insurance Companies typically don't advertise, unless you are Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. The reason the health insurance companies don't advertise is that often times the only people shopping for health insurance are the people with serious pre-existing conditions.

This would be like shopping for car insurance AFTER you had an accident! Or looking for homeowners insurance while your house is burning down! I can assure you that if you do a Google search on these companies and do your own due diligence you'll see that they are reputable and are seen as leaders in their industry.

Will I Be Able To Go To The Emergency Room?

All our plans offer emergency room coverage. However, if you go to the emergency room when it is not a real emergency the plans may require you to pay most of the bill. So don't go to the emergency room unless it's really necessary.

What About Urgent Care Facilities?

Blue Cross plans do not cover urgent care facilities. All other plans do cover urgent care.

What if I'm traveling out of State and I get sick or hurt am I covered?

If you have a real emergency like, serious burns, heart attack, stroke, broken bones, appendicitus, etc., These things are covered just like you were here in Michigan. However, if you get an upset stomach, the flu, allergies, or something minor, you will be charged out of network and you pay much higher co-pays than if you were in Michigan.

If you have other questions that, I didn't answer in my FAQ section you can ask your question here.
